Connecting with a retail client on FurnishNearMe displays your brands(s) on their online Shop, showcasing both In-Stock and Available To Order items to local shoppers and increasing your sales opportunities. It also grants access to a wide range of additional features.

Streamline client management and prospecting

The Retailer Directory helps you manage clients and find new prospects with an interactive map of retailers in your territory. View and add to retailers' profile information, identify potential leads, and control how clients' products are displayed on their Shops—streamlining sales efforts and boosting profitability.

Merchandise collaboratively in real time with clients

Organize and share curated product selections with the retailers you support using Product Lists. Lists make it faster and easier to recommend products, plan Purchase Orders, and collaborate more effectively, helping you become a trusted merchandising partner rather than just an order-taker.

Provide expert product training online via the Training Center

The Training Center is your tool for creating and sharing product training videos with your Connected retailers. It helps you keep retail sales teams informed and prepared to sell your brand(s)—which is especially useful in cases where in-person training isn’t feasible or timely.

How to get set up on FurnishNearMe

To start leveraging FurnishNearMe’s powerful tools, you'll need to complete the necessary account setup steps. Without completing these, the platform's features may not function correctly.

1. Complete your user profile

How to complete your profile

Start by clicking the account_box user account box in the top-right corner of the page and selecting My Dashboard from the dropdown. From there, select Go to Profile Settings.

Verify that the current information is correct

Add your phone number

This is optional but strongly recommended.

Add a Headline

Your Headline briefly describe your role in the home furnishings industry—for example, "Buyer at Super Furniture," "Sales Rep," or "Director of Marketing."

Add a profile picture

Having a profile picture builds trust, makes your profile more personal and approachable, and increases the chances of engagement from clients and prospects.

Save your changes

2. Connect with the brand(s) you rep

To set the brands your clients carry, you must first Connect yourself to those brands on the platform. Without Connecting first, you will not have access to the brand's digital catalog on our platform.

3. Define your territory

To start viewing, Connecting, and interacting with retailers via the Retailer Directory, you must first define your territory.

4. Connect with your retail clients

To display your brands on a retailer’s Shop and access key collaboration tools, you must first Connect with that retailer on FurnishNearMe.

5. Customize your notification preferences

Customize your platform notification settings to ensure you receive alerts about what matters most to you, while minimizing distractions from less relevant updates.

How to change your notification settings

Navigate to Notification Settings

  • Click the account_box user account box in the top-right corner of the page and select My Dashboard from the dropdown.

  • Click Edit next to your profile picture, then select Manage Notification Settings.

Choose the notifications you want

Each notification includes a brief description to explain its purpose.

Overview and setup FAQs

Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our platform.

What is a Connection?

A Connection is how we mark that you and another entity on the FurnishNearMe platform have an established working relationship. Once that Connection has been made it unlocks tons of tools and features that you and that entity can use together.

Why is my Connection request pending?

It's likely because the entity you requested a Connection from hasn't approved your request yet.

If a request remains pending for a long time, contact us and our team may step in to move the process forward.

Why are the pages for some tools blank?

It's probably because you haven't completed all of the essential setup steps yet, do those and then take another look to see it there's stuff on the page now.

How do I start collaborating with my clients?

Once you've completed all of the essential setup steps, collaborative tools will become available for you and your clients to use.

NOTE: The client will need to be Active on the platform in order to use the tool(s) with you.

What exactly is the FNM Industry Hub?

The FurnishNearMe Industry Hub is what we call the business-only side of our platform.

The public-facing pages of FurnishNearMe where consumers can shop for furniture is referred to as the Marketplace, while the private pages only available to professionals in the furniture industry are referred to as the Industry Hub.

What's the difference between Active and Inactive accounts?

Active accounts have users on them, while Inactive accounts don't have any users on them yet.

Until someone from a business signs up and takes control of their account on FurnishNearMe, that account will be unmanaged and Inactive.

If you notice that somebody you know has an Inactive account on our platform, we encourage you to invite them to sign up and take control of their account on FurnishNearMe so they can start using all of its incredible tools, too!

Do the terms vendor, manufacturer, and brand all mean the same thing?

At least on our platform, yes. Sometimes, one term is more fitting in a certain context, while another works better in a different one. But to be clear, all these terms are interchangeable and refer to the same thing on our platform: a furniture manufacturer that produces furniture products.

What does FNM stand for?
